"Everyone, please listen closely. Regarding the four-person rooms I am about to show you..."
Currently, Eris is explaining the layout to the 57 members of the Fairy race.
"My, this place is truly remarkable. Yuki-san, how did you come to possess such tools and knowledge?"
The Elder, Narjia, is reading through the handmade pamphlet for new residents with an impressed expression.
"I’m afraid I cannot answer that here. Would it be alright if we discuss that after I’ve finished guiding everyone from your village?"
"Oh, my apologies. Everything was so novel that I couldn't help myself. Still, things seem quite complex here. The way you speak to me—are you intentionally switching between two different tones?"
"Oh? You noticed?"
"Yes. When you used 'ore' (I), you were acting as the Dungeon Master. Now, as one of the dungeon administrators, you use 'watashi' (I). Am I wrong?"
"That is correct."
I think the Elder is quite capable. To notice the subtle shift in my speech patterns—most people would likely just perceive me as an inexperienced administrator still finding his footing.
"Fufu... don't worry. Those who don't know your side as the Master will likely just think you are being rude or simply unaccustomed to your role."
"Was it that obvious on my face?"
"No, I just had a hunch."
As we were chatting at the very back of the group, Eris finished her explanation.
"And that concludes the room orientation. I apologize for the inconvenience, but please form groups of four. If you have a family with more than four members, let us know, and we will provide additional bedding."
Good, things are going smoothly according to the manual I created. Manuals are essential. Of course, there will be issues, so adjustments will be necessary.
"Elder, what will you do about your room? If you wish, I can arrange a private room for you."
"Normally, I should stay with the rest of the villagers, but since I have much to discuss with you and your associates, I will take you up on that private room. However, I would prefer a location where I can easily reach the others..."
"Yes, of course. We have two private rooms prepared for the management of these four-person units. I shall guide you there."
We are currently on the third floor of the residential area. This is one of the buildings in the group training facility; the residential space is on the right, and the training space is on the left. I actually wanted to make it three stories high, but...
*"Wait just a second!? Even with this concrete, we're at the structural limit!! Don't go building three-story structures so easily!! It makes explaining things to the locals a nightmare!!"*
I was met with fierce opposition from Ratz and Eris. Apparently, in this continent, unless you are incredibly wealthy or nobility, two or three-story buildings simply don't exist. It’s not something you build for immigrants, and they said it would be difficult to explain why I’m showing off such advanced technology in an odd place. So, I tearfully settled for a one-story concrete facility.
The four-person rooms are equipped with two bunk beds on either side, a small living area, and a kitchen. Naturally, there is a small refrigerator. The toilets and baths are separate. How should I describe it? Perhaps like a remodeled school building? Each building can house about 300 people, meaning there are 75 four-person rooms. There are also private rooms for training officers and various other facilities.
As I was thinking about this, Eris stopped guiding.
"Yes, please use this section on the right. There is no difference between the rooms, so please choose whichever you like. It is first-come, first-served, but if there are any serious disputes, that room will be prohibited from use. Please go ahead and choose. Oh, and since these were built based on human standards, please forgive any size discrepancies."
Once Eris finished, the Fairies began choosing their rooms, either rushing in or forming their groups of four.
"Once you have chosen your room, please bring in your luggage, which is still left where you passed through the gate."
I suppose I should guide the Elder as well.
"Elder, your room is this way."
"Thank you for your thoughtfulness."
Since there are few private rooms, they are inevitably located near where the Fairies are staying, so there isn't much choice.
"Here it is. As you heard earlier, it is designed for humans, so it might be slightly inconvenient..."
"No, it is quite alright. Look."
The Elder uses her magic to float, easily reaching the kitchen cabinets and lifting a cup to her hand. Ah, that’s convenient.
"You should be able to store your clothes and some belongings in this closet. Please, make yourself at home."
"This is truly convenient. You prepared this for every room?"
"Yes. We have newcomers stay here temporarily to get used to life in the dungeon."
"I see. 'Temporarily' implies there are other places to live?"
"Yes, we have those prepared as well. Workplaces, entertainment facilities, and much more."
"My, that is amazing. Oh, excuse me. I need to take out my personal belongings..."
"Ah, my apologies. I will wait outside."
I said that and left the room. The hallway was overflowing with Fairies carrying their luggage from the gate room. Amidst them, I spotted Eris keeping watch.
"Hey, Eris. How is it over there? Any trouble?"
"No, nothing in particular. It’s going exactly according to the manual you wrote, Yuki-san. If we didn't have this, I think it would have been a disaster with things being done out of order or forgotten."
The manual Eris is holding has a checklist, making it easy to see if tasks are being done out of sequence.
"If I had to point out one thing, it's that the toilets aren't sized for the Fairy race."
"Ah, but it’s hard to justify rebuilding them just for that..."
"Yes. If they were to settle here permanently, we would need to remodel them, but..."
"It’s still a training facility, and they might move elsewhere, so let's keep it on hold for now."
"Understood. Then, for today, we will proceed according to the manual."
"Well, there's no point in rushing. Tomorrow, we’ll cover the purpose of the dungeon, a tour of the training facilities, how to use the baths, and an explanation of the work, right?"
"That’s right. The explanation about work will likely just be an overview. I think it’s more important for them to learn the purpose of the dungeon and how to use the baths."
According to the manual, the process is divided into seven stages:
Stage 1: Headcount management, issuing IDs, guiding to residential areas, explaining room amenities.
Stage 2: Explaining the purpose of the dungeon, tour of training facilities, how to use the baths, brief work explanation.
Stage 3: Tour of entertainment facilities, how to use them, detailed work explanation.
Stage 4: Tour of dungeon facilities, visiting workplaces.
Stage 5: Assigning work based on personal preference, starting full-scale training.
We plan to complete each stage in about one day.
Stage 6: Training period.
Stage 7: Completion of training, moving to residential quarters, starting life as a full-fledged resident.
The timing for stages 6 and 7 is undecided. Since slaves usually have a period to buy back their freedom, it could potentially take longer.
"Ah, that's right. They aren't slaves this time..."
"Indeed. That part of the schedule will likely shift quite a bit."
As we were discussing this, the Elder stepped out of her room.
"I apologize for the wait."
"No, it’s quite alright. Actually, I have a consultation regarding what comes next. Would that be acceptable?"
"Yes, of course. Nana, could you come here for a moment?"
"Yes? What is it?"
