第１２４０堀：説明の難しさ (Part2)
Well, this is certainly not a situation the Master can handle himself, is it?
"Hey, what’s the right way to deal with this?"
"I haven't the foggiest. Shouldn't we be asking the doctor for an opinion?"
"Eh!?"
When Seraria and Deryu turned their gazes toward me, I felt the weight of everyone’s expectations pressing down on me. I almost blurted out that dealing with people who simply can't process reality isn't a medical issue, but a psychological one—but I bit my tongue. That’s just it: they’re asking me because they believe I’m the one who can handle it. And, well, they aren't entirely wrong.
When people suffer a shock, the parties involved often struggle to grasp that the situation is actually happening to them. Therefore...
"For now, there’s no need to force them to understand. It’s better to get them into a bath and put them to bed. However, they might act unpredictably in their confusion, so it’s best to have someone with them to prevent any accidents. I’ll handle Orelia and the others. Ria, Jessica, Kirue, and Sasari—could you assist me?"
"Sure thing!"
"Understood. Let’s help."
"As you wish."
"Got it!"
I was grateful for the four of them, who understood my intent immediately.
"As for Fiora, I’ll leave her to Seraria and Stasia."
"Understood."
"Got it."
"And for Wazfi and Nailua, I’ll leave them to Comet, Agil, and Deryu."
"Leave it to me."
"Though, I don't think there's much to actually *do*."
"Hmph, they are my disciples, so that’s only natural. Let’s get them into the bath quickly."
With that, the rest of the members followed my instructions and began ushering them toward the baths.
"And as for everyone else, please go get some rest. They might still be confused tomorrow, so please be ready to support them then."
I said this to those who weren't tasked with looking after the "space-cat" dazed ones, and then headed toward the baths myself. Now, would Orelia and the others actually be able to get into the water? I had been worried, but perhaps they had regained some of their senses while moving to the open-air bath; they didn't put up much of a struggle and undressed when told.
Seeing this, I whispered to Seraria and the others...
"Ah, that’s the best way, isn't it?"
"Indeed. It should be quite effective."
"Heh heh heh. It’ll provide a good jolt, too."
And so, instead of a gentle rinse, we filled buckets with the ice-cold water kept after the sauna and splashed it right over the heads of the dazed Orelia and her group.
" " "It's freeeeezing!!!" " "
They all screamed in unison.
"Now, are you back to your senses? We’re in the bath. I’m sure you have plenty of questions, but for today, let’s just bathe and go to sle—"
Before I could finish, they all plunged into the open-air bath with a massive splash.
"Hah. Well, once you’ve warmed up, make sure to wash yourselves properly."
In this way, we managed to bring Orelia and the others back to reality, but judging by our conversation in the hot spring...
"Um, I am terribly sorry. I’m still quite confused. I don’t think I’m spouting lies or delusions, but..."
"Yeah... there’s just so much to take in, I can’t keep up~"
"Is Yuki-sama really a 'Messenger of the Gods'? What do you think, Wazfi-san?"
"Hmm. Looking at the situation, I think it’s true. But Yuki-sama doesn't exactly revere them, does he? The gods, I mean."
"Y-yeah. From what we heard earlier, it felt more like he loathed them."
"But hearing the story, it’s understandable why he would. He was dragged into a world that had nothing to do with him against his will. And most of the trouble he’s dealt with so far has been cleaning up after gods and his predecessor. Still, I feel like I’m in a dream or something..."
Even Wazfi and Nailua, who are supposed to be quite sharp, seemed unable to process it, and even the flexible Fiora looked bewildered. It really brings home how difficult it is to explain the Master’s circumstances and background.
Is there really no better way to do this?
Things that need explaining:
・That he is an alien (from another world).
・That he was brought here by gods.
・That he is here to fix the environment of this world.
・And a multitude of other associated explanations.
Well then, how would you explain an acquaintance like this? How would you make them understand?
