第1679堀:同僚は頑張っていると思います (Part2)
"Yes. I am also curious about the state of the ships, so I shall study them alongside you."
Well, looking at them, they seem to be based on cruisers, so perhaps the question is whether there are specific methods for utilizing them as fishing vessels.
"That said, I understand the situation with the harbor staff in Weed's port town, but—and this is a bit late to ask—how long are we going to keep calling it 'Weed's port town'?"
Once the discussion had reached a certain point of cohesion, Rurua posed the question quite casually.
"Ah, the name, huh. We still haven't settled on one. Even when I tell Sisua and Sona to handle it, they won't hear of it."
"That is only natural. The port town is, after all, a territory under your ownership, Yuki-sama. Those two are merely acting as magistrates. Please do not forget that."
As Fiora-sama said this, we all nodded in agreement.
This place was prepared by Queen Seraria for her husband, Yuki-sama. It would be an act of profound disrespect for anyone other than Yuki-sama to bestow a name upon it.
"…Well, I’ll make sure it’s decided before the official opening."
"Yuki-sama, Micos-sama has sent word that she requires an answer soon, so that she may include it in the pamphlets and magazines."
Prol-san added. Indeed, if things remain as they are, the pamphlets and magazine features will end up being about a place with no name, which would be quite strange.
"Understood. I'll do my best. Though, I don't really have much of a knack for naming things."
"Is that so? I don't think your sense is bad at all, Yuki-san."
"I agree. I don't see any particular problem with it, either."
Ria-sama and Jessica-sama offered their support to Yuki-sama. Indeed, I don't think his sense is poor, either.
"…Yuki just goes all-out when he wants to play around, so he’s just being pulled in that direction."
"Ah, Yuki-sama certainly does have a tendency toward that. Nevertheless, he is fundamentally serious when it comes to his work."
I nodded in agreement with Cleena-sama’s assessment, as did Samantha-sama.
Well, it’s not so much "playing around" as it is a deliberate choice to use strange names to break the tension for everyone. In fact, he does the same thing with the leaders of various nations—all to shatter their hostility.
Yuki-sama often says that while he welcomes the competitive spirit between nations, he wants to avoid that competition escalating into war. Therefore, he acts in ways that make it seem foolish for anyone to express outrage over something as trivial as a strange name.
For instance, he changes what would normally be called an "Excellence Presentation" at school to a "Children’s Study Presentation." If anyone were to complain about that, they would simply reveal themselves to be a foolish adult picking on what the children have learned.
He doesn't mind the concept of merit, but there are always idiots who would use such rankings to stir up trouble with other nations. Thus, Yuki-sama’s intention is to let the talented find their own way.
...Or at least, that’s what I thought when I first began serving by Yuki-sama’s side, but recently:
"Well, if I were to call someone 'excellent,' they’d just get poached, right? So, it’s better to just say 'everyone.' Besides, there might be talents buried that even I’m not aware of."
"Oh, well, while that is the nature of talent scouting, typically..."
"It must be quite pitiful for the side being kept in such a state of confusion."
As Jessica-sama and Fiora-sama noted, it really is quite wicked. Though, it does serve the national interest, and in a sense, it allows other nations to find talent that suits them as well...
"…Yuki is always like this. Since we’re on the subject of the school, I have to ask: when are we planning to go to the Magic Kingdom? If it’s Nonoa’s territory, I’d like to go too."
That was right. We had temporarily paused due to the harbor-related matters, but our visits to the schools across each continent were not yet finished. And it was only natural that Cleena-sama would want to visit the Magic Kingdom; after all, she was a top-tier student who graduated third in her class at the Lancer Magic Academy.
"Ah, I need to iron out those details, too. Unlike with Zrable, the personnel for that will be selected from the Magic University, and the members will be from the magic school... I imagine there are quite a lot of people who want to go."
"Indeed. I intend to appoint a substitute so that I may accompany you."
Samantha-sama as well—well, it is only natural, as she is a graduate of the same academy as Cleena-sama.
And so, once the reports were finalized, we would begin coordinating our schedule for the trip to the Magic Kingdom.
