171 White Room, but Calm ※From Nanami's Perspective
It felt like I had blinked and suddenly found myself somewhere else.
When the time came, I was enveloped in blinding light and closed my eyes; when I opened them again, I had already been moved to another location.
"This is the so-called 'White Room.'"
On the desk in front of me sat a single computer.
The screen displayed the words: 'You have been selected as a transmigrator to another world. Complete your bonus point allocation, and begin your journey to the other world.'
This should be the same wording as during the first time. It seems the text hasn't been significantly revised.
After all, there's no guarantee that the point system won't just be scrapped altogether. As Serika-chan said, it all depends on the whims of the god—anything could happen.
"The time limit is... about an hour. Plenty of time, then."
With that much time, a lot of thinking can be done.
Point allocation is only once, with no chance to redo it.
Naturally, careful selection is essential, but boldness matters too.

"Nothing major has changed on this side either."
Well, since the first wave has already been transferred, most people thought there wouldn't be any major changes. In reality, it had only been about two months since the initial transfer—hardly half a year—so perhaps it was considered too early to implement significant changes.
"The bonus points are quite low,"
but that's within expected range.
During the first transfer, random transfer was the default option.
Just setting the transfer location to "safe" cost 30 points. Probably, the default is now set to "safe" this time. Perhaps the gods considered the backlash from having "random" as the default in the past and adjusted accordingly.
"Let's touch on the decisive points first."
I touched the age field and increased my age by just one year—from fifteen to sixteen. My points went up by only three, bringing the total to forty-six.
Even after this increase, I'd be the same age as Reflair, one year younger than Jeanne.
From the perspective of stamina against aging, there was absolutely no problem. While considering my aging resistance, I might have even increased it by another point, but I simply couldn't bring myself to do it due to strong psychological resistance.
Even though I intellectually understood how significant those initial three points could be, it's simply not easy for a human being to willingly choose aging.
Next, I opened the "Transfer Points" section.
This was definitely something that had changed significantly—but—
"……So this is what it's come to. I suppose some consideration was made, but still…"
I let out a low groan upon seeing the revised content.
How I chose this would be the most crucial decision for me—
―――――――――――――――――――――――――
●Transfer Point Selection
・Safe Location Transfer Before a Town 0 Points (Default Selected)
A place where dangerous wild animals have been almost eradicated. A town lies directly ahead.
・Transfer Before a Safe Town by Continent 10 Points
For those who have a specific destination in mind. Please select a continent
(Choose from: East Roshechir, West Roshechir, Ringpil, Ransimosa, North Aralura, South Aralura)
※ Only Aralura continent allows transfer at 0 points.
・Random Transfer by Continent +20 Points
A good option if you have a specific location in mind, but random transfers come with inherent dangers. At your own risk. Not recommended.
(Choose from: East Roshechir, West Roshechir, Ringpil, Ransimosa, North Aralura, South Aralura)
※ Only the Aralura continent grants +30 points
・Dart Teleport +5 points
If you're skilled with darts, you might just land exactly where you aim? If a dart strikes the sea, restart. The distance from the slow line to the map is 300 centimeters. Difficulty is high, so those without dart experience should not choose this lightly.
――――――――――――――――――――――――
"No town-selection teleport available...?"
I came here having pre-set several rules, one of which was: if direct teleportation to Meltya is possible, I will choose it regardless of how many points it requires.
If I can meet up with Hii-chan first, all problems will be solved instantly. I accepted that condition myself, and now I've opened this page with that intention in mind.
But all we have is continent-specific teleportation. Even though it's called a ring pillar, it's incredibly vast—so large that an entire European region could fit inside it.
In any case, the chances of a "quick reunion" have significantly decreased now.
Even if we spend ten points on "continent-safe teleportation," how many cities are there just within the ring pillar continent? Hopefully, Meltya gets chosen. But what if it's a completely different city? Then I'd just be spending ten points to take a long journey to reunite.
I've suddenly been thrown into a difficult decision, but we must decide this first—otherwise, character creation will be impossible.
"……Still, this is basically just a service option, isn't it?"
In that case, choosing dart teleportation is the obvious choice.
Of course, if I had no prior experience with darts, it would've been tough, but I stuck with Serika-chan, who declared she'd "get good at everything," and for a while we spent nearly every day playing darts at the nearby manga café.
So, I can at least aim reasonably well.
At the very least, I should be able to hit the ring pillar. Hitting Meltya directly... well, that's probably still out of reach, but it's certainly better than the other options.
Above all, gaining five points is a big deal.
I chose the dart transfer and gained five points.
That leaves me with fifty-one points remaining.
"Maybe I should check the negative factors next."
Negative factors are a kind of safety measure.
In exchange, though, they tend to persist for a long time. It's usually better not to take them, but points are valuable. Depending on the situation, it might be worth taking one.
――――――――――――――――――――
●Disadvantage
・Memory Loss +50 Points
Lose memories of the original world.
・Glutton +10 Points
Require five times the normal amount of calories for daily activities.
・Someone to Protect +0 to 30 Points
Can bring one "Beloved Person to Protect" to the alternate world.
A child under 12 years old, male or female, or an animal.
The person to protect cannot be enhanced with points (points set to 0).
Additional points are calculated based on the vulnerability and affection level toward the person to protect.
Animals with low vulnerability cannot be brought along.
――――――――――――――――――――
The condition "lacking talent for spirit magic" that previously prevented first-wave transfer has now been removed.
Probably, Jeanne was just too strong, so she was removed for balance reasons.
A new entry has been added for creatures that cannot be brought along, even if they are worth protecting. Originally, large dogs couldn't be brought along anyway, so this just formalized that rule.
"Well, maybe I don't need to choose anything from here..."
I considered bringing Serika and Karen along as protectable companions, but unfortunately, they're too young. Still, I doubt they'd want to come anyway.
If I were to take something from here, it'd be "Big Eater," but that might lead to trouble at higher levels.
I'd have to keep eating constantly, and only in a dungeon where spirit energy is abundant and hunger is hard to feel would that be manageable—on a long journey, it would definitely cause problems.
Next, let's look at special abilities.
Probably, this section should have changed significantly.
――――――――――――――――――――
●Special Ability
・Courage 20p
Gain the strength to face difficulties and fear, moving forward.
・Hyper Focus 30p
Ability to concentrate so deeply that one forgets eating and sleeping.
・Spirit Sense 15p
Ability to detect the presence of spirits.
・Awareness 15p
Ability to sense the presence of living beings.
・Night Vision 15p
Ability to see even in near-total darkness.
・Intuition 20p
Ability to instinctively choose the more advantageous option.
・Short Sleep 20p
Significantly reduces need for sleep. (Achieves the same restorative effect as eight hours of normal sleep with only about three hours of sleep per day.)
・Apnea Activity 10p
Capable of performing maximum-effort actions for two minutes without breathing.
With training, able to stay submerged for about fifteen minutes.
・Wide Field of View 10p
Possesses an exceptionally wide field of vision, impossible for humans.
・Telepathic Communication 30p
Can communicate mentally with animals.
・Increased EXP Gain 30p
Leveling up becomes easier.
・Identification 50p
"Item Identification" and "Monster Identification" can be used without any limit on number of uses.
・Foreign Language 0p▼
Able to read and write the common language of the transfer location.
――――――――――――――――――
"It's not as different as I thought... but there's still something missing, I guess."
First, fascination and spirit's favor—these two abilities that caused issues during the first transfer were gone.
According to Serika-chan's prediction, abilities like hyper-focus were unpopular and likely to disappear, but this one remains. It seems popularity doesn't really matter.
The points gained from not taking a foreign world language have been significantly reduced.
While it was +20 points in the first instance, now even choosing "none" only grants 10 points. This is probably because translation of the foreign world language has advanced considerably by now. Serika-chan herself said she can already speak basic daily conversation in Ringpil.
In exchange, it seems you can now acquire 'Complete Translation of Foreign World Language' using points. This ability allows you to speak the foreign world language anywhere, since it holds no meaning in other regions—essentially, the power to speak fluently with anyone, anywhere, just like Serika-chan.
It's unclear how effective this ability will be in another world, but it might be essential for someone who enjoys traveling.
・Foreign Language (Translation Area) 0p▽
None +10p
Complete Translation of Foreign Language 30p
Complete translation costs 30 points—quite high, but if it can translate even obscure languages, it could be a very useful skill. You'd be able to communicate with people from several different countries, making you an exceptionally rare individual even in that world.
Still, I won't be getting involved with languages.
"New abilities have been added."
The four new ones introduced this time are "Spiritual Energy Detection," "Short Sleep," "Increased Experience Gain," and "Identification." Well, none of them seem necessary, but I suppose I should at least consider them.
Spirit energy detection feels like a cousin to aura sensing, but since there's naturally no spirit energy on Earth, it's probably more like a newly sharpened sense organ.
It's just a dream, though—I don't fully understand what it actually is. Still, it seems all beings in that world possess spirit energy, and it might even be a more practical ability than aura sensing.
That said, I don't need it. Serika and Karen will probably verify it eventually.
Next is "Short Sleep."
That's out of the question. I enjoy sleeping, and in a world without games, I have no reason to cut my sleep time short.
Next is "Increased Experience Gain."
It requires a lot of points, but in a world where defeating monsters progressively turns you into a monster, eventually becoming a demon, this could easily become a cheat-like ability.
Still, if you're not going to use it by defeating countless monsters, it's just a wasted treasure. It's an intriguing ability, but at best it's only 1.2 to 1.5 times stronger. With such a modest multiplier, it'd be better to invest in increasing your strength so you can hunt more monsters.
Finally, "Identification."
Being able to identify without limits is a staple of isekai worlds, but as transfer beings, we could already identify with just one crystal. Fifty points equate to 1,500 identifications. Unless you take on extremely rare jobs, I doubt you'll ever recoup the cost.
"……Well, in any case, let me take a quick look through everything."
I closed the special abilities tab and opened up the resistance section.
