Chapter 8: January 16th – January 31st, Payday

January 16th. Yeah, that day was a mess. The scaffolding collapsed at the construction site—worker fell right off.
Good thing it was right in front of me. I froze time and moved the worker just above the ground.
If you stopped time after the fall and set them down on the ground, the falling energy would still be there—could’ve caused injury. But since it was right after the fall, the workers landed without much impact and didn’t get hurt at all.
The workers nearby scattered, startled, but no big deal, right?
I’d been living pretty conveniently—stopping time at work sites whenever I got tired, taking breaks whenever I wanted, teleporting to work whenever I needed to.
But this time... helping someone else made me start thinking maybe my abilities shouldn't just be for me. Maybe I should use them for others too...?
Some people might think, seeing me chasing money, that if I could stop time just by doing something bad, no one’d catch me—so why not just go for it? But I’m not into that kind of thing.
If that Gacha was set up by a god... it might just vanish the moment you do something bad. Given there’s a weird Gacha like that, it’s not exactly shocking if gods exist, right?
