43 Spider vs. Earthworm………huh?
After effortlessly repelling the first unit, I was immediately swarmed by bees.
The second unit was eliminated without issue, but that was when the problem began.
Multiple units started attacking simultaneously.
Impossible.
No, from the bees' perspective, it's logical.
Still, as the one being attacked, I wish they wouldn't come in such overwhelming numbers.
Even if the hive is safe, the visual pressure is intense.
What is this? Constantly surrounded by giant bees buzzing overhead, day and night?
Sighing, I survey the area.
Bees, bees, bees—everywhere.
Seriously, what is wrong with you all?
When they gather this densely, the buzzing is unbearable.
Extremely loud.
Too loud to sleep.
And if I keep meticulously eliminating this much, I won’t be able to consume it all.
I feel like I can eat more than before thanks to the Gluttony skill, but even so, there are limits.
Each one is already large enough, and now that I’ve acquired five at once, it’s beyond manageable.
That’s why my Gluttony skill level rose to three.
The biggest issue is that constant bee attacks are stalling the expansion of the hive.
My primary objective is escape from here.
Not dealing with bees.
Yet, because they keep attacking without pause, progress on construction has halted.
If they’d stop attacking, I’d already have more than enough food. I could leave them be.
But of course, they can’t possibly understand that.
I’ll have to push forward bit by bit, squeezing progress in between their assaults.

My nest was reduced by more than half in a single strike.
The remaining upper section collapsed as well, caught in the fall of the wall.
I was on that upper section.
I avoided the direct hit of what was likely a breath attack.
Fell downward with the net surrounding me.
Struck the ground without being able to do anything.
Pain.
HP dropped significantly.
Still alive.
Alive, but the future is uncertain.
Everything depends on the earth dragon’s mood.
I am covered by my own web.
My own thread, but touching the sticky parts would bind me as well.
But that is not a concern now.
This may be fortunate.
My body is concealed within a bundle of threads, invisible from outside.

I disengage the threads wrapped around my body using thread manipulation.
It is known that thread manipulation can alter the properties of spider silk to some degree.
I reduce adhesion and detach the threads from my body.
Slowly, I crawl out from the bundle of silk threads.
The earth dragon was no longer there.
