Chapter 42: Time

Chapter 42: Time

As mentioned in the activity report, I managed to secure first place in the monthly overall ranking. Thanks to everyone who read it. I really, truly appreciate it.

"Next up... 'Martial Artist,' I guess..."

I used Thousand-Mile Eye to spot giants… then hunted them down. By the time I’d taken down nearly forty, the martial artist’s level had maxed out.

Martial Artist Lv99

[Occupational Skill]

Martial Arts Rank F → D

Acquired "Agility" Skill Level 1 × 3

职业技能是“Martial Arts”, and the acquired skill is “Agility” — that’s exactly what I expected… but this won’t help against giants, will it?

Then I tried out a few different classes—blacksmith, hunter, thief—burning through the boards. After maxing them all out, my class skills ended up like this.

Thief Lv99

[Occupational Skill]

Artifice Rank F → C

Breakdown Rank F → C

Seizure Rank F → D

Obtained “Skill”: Precision Calibration (I) ×3, Spatial Perception (I) ×2

Imitation (I) ×2, Hostility Detection (I) ×1

The first "Blacksmith" to max out only gained stats for about two hundred people total. Not surprising, since it’s a non-combat profession. But in return, the job skill "Crafting" was way better than expected.

It’s a magic circle that automatically generates weapons and armor just by placing materials inside and focusing on them intensely—no need to hammer away at iron, super easy to create stuff.

That’s what gives meaning to the Sage’s “Arcane Codex.” You can picture it so clearly if you’ve got the blueprint.

I didn’t get the hunter’s “disassembly” thing at first… but then it clicked when I’d taken down dozens of giants.

Rain fell where the giant had fallen—drops that were actually "magic cores." I checked it out—

+1 to Strength

Magic cores that directly boost stats. This might be an incredible skill... probably the chance to drop magic cores increases as my rank goes up.

If it's based on probability, with "Goddess's Blessing" boosting my luck stat to max, I should be able to get them almost every time. That means I could keep raising my stats nonstop...

At first, I didn’t get the thief skill “Steal” at all. But then, during a fight, I felt something off—so I deliberately took a hit from the giant, lowered my HP, and tried attacking again.

Exactly as I thought—each hit restored my HP... so I can steal HP through close combat. And getting the “Imitate” skill is huge... proven useful already against the Undead King.

Still, not exactly a breakthrough against giants...

I’m moving east, toward New York. That’s where Titans are said to be. There’s no doubt this is the core of monster activity.

Proof? As I fly closer to New York, the concentration of magic essence keeps rising.

Right now, I’m a bowman—though I don’t actually have a bow. Still, there’s a bow blueprint in the arcane library, and I’ve got the blacksmith skill “Creation.”

Just need materials. I’ll use the Mithril sword. Feels wasteful, but if I need it, I can just recreate it. Should be fine.

And this is what I made—

Mithril Bow Rank B

Mithril-made bow

Durability isn’t great.

And my职业 skill "Archery" was seriously handy. No need for arrows at all!! I form the arrow part with magic power, so with infinite mana, I can fire as many as I want.

Plus, I can imbue the arrows with magic—adding fire or explosion spells makes them way more powerful.

It hits faster than casting magic normally. Honestly, super useful. Definitely a top pick for dealing with giants...

Archery职业 skill—

Archery Level 99

[Profession Skill]

Archery Rank F → D

Acquired "Skill" Thousand-Mile Eye (I) × 2

Reached Rank D. Now, are there any other useful professions...? Decided to max out all rare professions for now. Next up—became a Monster Tamer.

This’ll be the last rare profession. As expected, the Monster Tamer skill was "Tame." Gotta say, I’m excited. It’s a classic in fantasy novels, after all...

I really got serious about giant tactics after becoming a Monster Tamer. My go-to plan? Drop a massive rock on their heads—no, not just drop it. Use "Gravity Manipulation."

First, lighten the giant rock with gravity manipulation, stash it in my storage space, teleport right above the giant, pull it out, and drop it down with "Gravity Crush"—pinning them in place with the sheer weight!

The rock’s own mass, plus 100x gravity—it’s a one-shot kill. Even giants can’t survive that.

At first, the rocks kept cracking every time I used them. Took forever to find decent ones. But now I just create perfect rock chunks with Earth Magic—done in seconds.

And with Enhancement Magic, I boosted the hardness to match iron balls—now I can reuse them over and over. Normally, Enhancement Magic wears off after a set time, but if I store it in a time-stopped storage space? It stays rock-solid forever.

The best part? It works on humanoid, rock, and metal types—every kind of giant.

Now I’m wiping out giants like a boss. Leveling up? Easy. My “Beastmaster” level shot straight to max in no time.

Beastmaster Lv99

[Class Skill]

Tame Rank F → C

Acquired “Magic” Summoning Magic (I) × 2

This job doesn’t focus on direct combat, so base stats only grew by 200 total—pretty low. But the “Tame” skill? Exactly as powerful as I expected.

And this class? It’s about to change my whole fighting style.
